Facility Management Market Theatre Project

Our Property Management team have been working on the recent update of our Market Theatre project which includes the facility management of nine buildings that commenced with R4.7m value of upgrades and restoration in March 2022 and are currently managing the various projects relating to these upgrades, with the aim to complete by August.

The Market Theatre operates as a Cultural Institution for performance art and photography and includes the Market Theatre, Market Laboratory and the Market Photo Workshop and the Windy Brow Arts Centre.

The Core business of the MTF is producing a variety of theatre works that reflect and represent the issues that affect the people of South Africa.

Scope of work:

  • Condition Assessment of all the infrastructure facilities
  • The development of bills of quantities for each facility
  • The development of the individual maintenance plans
  • The development of the lifecycle plans
  • Development of the sing point of contact for reporting, maintenance issues, maintenance response etc.
  • Development of a comprehensive facility management service plan
  • Monthly reporting of FM services

These upgrades include:

  • Painting
  • Replacement of light fittings to LED
  • Waterproofing
  • Access control & CCTV installations
  • Replacement of skylights
  • Plumbing installations and repairs

We are honoured to work on such an assignment that produces productions and creates employment for over 200 people from artists, to sound engineers, actors and more and 85% of these artists are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
