Topographical Surveys

Topographical Surveys are undertaken to determine the contours and terrain of a site as well as to identify existing site features and important services that may already be installed on a site. These include above ground services such as lamp poles, pavements and sign boards as well as below ground services such as drainage and communication network pipes. We are specialists in long distance strip Topographical Surveys along transportation networks and for routing of new bulk services. This includes the establishment of first-order control survey control networks for use during the construction phase.

AlcoNCP: Laser Scanning for Rapid and Accurate Capture

GeoAfrika Surveys has been appointed to undertake quarterly surveys of product stockpiles for AlcoNCP, one of the leading alcohol and livestock feed producers in South Africa. The surveys are undertaken in an indoor warehouse utilizing terrestrial laser scanning for rapid and accurate capture of the Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles

Dr Pixley Kaseme Street | eThekwini

GeoAfrika Surveys was appointed by the eThekwini Municipality Survey Department to conduct a detailed topographical survey of Dr Pixley Kaseme Street, between Shepstone Road and OR Tambo Parade, including the promenade. The survey was conducted to assist in planning the city's future transportation network.

SAPPI Saiccor Mill | KZN

In 2018 SAPPI embarked on the re-design of the rail system and installation of an automated woodchip system in the woodyard of the Saiccor Mill. SiVEST South Africa was appointed to provide design, engineering and management advisory support services for the civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, instrumentation and drafting works

Transnet Topographical Investigations | Hoedspruit and Natalspruit

Transnet (the South African Rail, Port and Pipeline company) required a detailed topographical survey to inform the design process for the upgrading of the Hoedspruit and Natalspruit Marshalling Yards. GeoAfrika Surveys undertook above ground topographical surveys and below ground service detection in order to provide the highest quality mapping product

SANRAL Land Survey Management

The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) network comprises nearly 22,691km of road infrastructure. This equates to an estimated 500 million hectares of land that requires administration, management and survey.
