Plans Management System

The KZN Department of Transport is responsible for the safe keeping of original plans that are mainly from the Engineering sector. Most plans have been scanned and geo-referenced in order to have a spatially relevant digital store of the plans. Plan types include design, expropriation, drainage, survey and cross-sectional. There existed a need to manage this large and valuable dataset, and to enable the tracking of existing and new plans as these are approved and transferred for review within the Department. A system was built to meet all requirements and historical data imported into the system to ensure a long term consistent record within the system.
